The Sand and Rotator worked well in that context but it's very difficult trying to put it in the context you're trying to express. Ichigo reflected on how everything just kept repeating itself day in and day out as he observed the behaviors of the girl ghost and his classmates (everyday he would go by and visit the spirit-everyday his friends would be engaging in the same type of behaviors). Renji believed it was straight and reflected back to when he was promoted to Lt while Rukia thought it veers because of what happened when she met Ichigo. Ichigo, Renji, and Rukia both questioned their fate (what their life was to be expected whether it was in straight path or did it waiver). However in reality, he wanted to end the endless cycle of repeating history-he wanted it to change.
